The SecureConnect product consists of two components. The SecureSIM, which can be ordered via the online shop, and the SecureGateway, which can be obtained via the AWS Marketplace. Both components must be used in combination to use the SecureConnect product.
No. Unlike a VPN, SecureSIM doesn’t use the Internet to send data at all. It uses cellular networks to move data. That data remains entirely within the highly secure and encrypted environment of Telefónica Germany as it moves Machine to Machine (M2M) or connects to your AWS cloud setup.
If you’re using a software-based VPN and the software fails for any reason, your traffic may default to unencrypted transmission. If you’re using a hardware-based VPN, you have the expense of hardware and maintenance and a lack of connectivity if it fails. This can be omitted by SecureConnect and therefore offers a clear advantage over VPN encryption.
You can use SecureSIM anywhere the carrier’s signal can reach. This means you’re not limited to where lines and cables have been installed. And because it can run on NB-IoT, LTE-M, 2G, 4G and 5G networks, your devices will work under a wide range of conditions.
You can use them! If you need your devices to be able to connect to the servers and applications in your AWS cloud setup, they can do that without ever having to move traffic over the Internet. If your devices need to access the Internet, you can configure them to use a VPN gateway from your AWS cloud. You have all the connectivity you need and not one byte is ever unprotected.

The period of use for all plans is 120 months per SIM card and begins when the SIM cards are activated.
The SIM cards are automatically deactivated after the end of the period of use. You can view the remaining term of your SIM cards on the IoT connectivity management platform.
Your SIM cards do not need to be specifically cancelled. Your SIM cards will expire automatically either at the end of their term or when the data volume has been consumed if no additional volume has been purchased. You also have the option of deactivating selected SIM cards on the IoT connectivity management platform. However, this does not mean that the SIM cards have been cancelled.
Once the data volume of the SecureSIM card has been used up, you must top up data volume again within 12 months to prevent the SIM card from being deactivated.

PIN requests have been deactivated as standard and can be manually activated on your device. The SIM pins can be viewed on the IoT connectivity management platform. A PIN does not have to be entered to use the SIM card provided that you, the customer, have not knowingly activated this on your device.

The IoT connectivity management platform is where privacySIM cards can be managed from a single place. It also offers a broad range of functions for more security and control of your IoT application.
You will receive your access data for the platform within a few days of completing your order. You will receive access by e-mail from service@geeny.io. In some cases, you may have to whitelist this e-mail address in your mail provider to stop these e-mails from going to spam.

To login with a new e-mail address, you first need to create a new user on the IoT connectivity management platform. After the new user has been created, they receive an e-mail containing their user ID and an activation link.
Under “User administration” on the IoT connectivity management platform, you can create new user accounts for internal and external employees, delete user accounts, change the processing rights of user accounts and manage contact data and language settings.
Various role profiles are supported, such as admin, user or technician. Further information can be found in the manual.
You can change your password under “User”, “Your name”. There you can also change your e-mail address, preferred language and time zone.
If you have forgotten your password, the platform allows you to reset your password using the “Forgot password?” function. After entering your username and your e-mail address, you will then be sent an e-mail with a link to reset your password.
Your account will be frozen when 60 days have passed since your last login. You will receive an e-mail informing you when this happens. You will also receive e-mails fifteen, three, two and one day before your account is frozen.
